A little less checking clutter.

OCdragon is a private vault for the photos you take to reassure yourself: the stove, the lock, the window. Here is how it is meant to work, what comes first, and what is still research.

The Vault, step by step.

The first version of OCdragon does one job: it gives checking photos their own place.

  1. Capture

Take the photo inside OCdragon. It goes straight into the Vault instead of your camera roll.

  2. Import

Moving existing checking photos over from your camera roll is something we are looking at.

    Under consideration
  3. Organise

Photos are sorted by what you checked and when, so the latest stove photo is always easy to find.

  4. View

Open the Vault, look at the photo, close it again. No scrolling past holiday pictures to get there.

  5. Protect

The Vault opens with your device’s own authentication, such as Face ID or your passcode.

  6. Retention

Choose how long a photo stays before it clears itself, so old checks do not pile up.

    Planned

Before and after.

The same fifteen photos, two very different camera rolls. Switch the view and watch the checking photos move into their own space.

Photos

OCdragon Vault

Private by design.

These photos show the inside of your home. They should not end up in a shared album or an ad profile.

  • On your device

The Vault is designed around on-device storage, away from your camera roll and cloud photo albums.

  • Locked by your device

Access uses your phone’s biometric lock or passcode. Nobody browsing your gallery sees these photos.

  • No attention business

No ads and no sale of data. Any future research use would be opt-in, after a plain-language explanation.

Personal insights.

Later, OCdragon could show you simple patterns in your own Vault: how often, when and what you tend to check. Insights would be optional and could be switched off at any time.

  • Frequency trends How often you create checking photos.
  • Time patterns When checking tends to happen.
  • Object categories What you photograph most.
  • Personal progress How your habits change over time.

What’s next: the Recovery Engine.

Our long-term research idea is an optional way to gradually shorten how long checking photos stay in the Vault, so you might rely on them a little less over time.

It is inspired by principles from exposure and response prevention (ERP), but it is not ERP, not a medical treatment, and has not been tested. It would only ever be released after proper research, safeguards and regulatory review.

How we think about it
  1. Establish a baseline

    Understand your current routine first.

  2. Introduce expiry

Photos clear after a window you choose.

  3. Build tolerance

Shorten the window, only when you feel ready.
